Margo Szabunia wins silver medal

Liberty Fencing Club coach and fencer Margo Szabunia traveled to Dallas, TX this past weekend for USA Fencing’s North American Cup for her first national event as a competitor herself in many years (although she’s been coaching at the national and collegiate level for many years).  It’s a comeback after a storied career in USA Fencing, internationally (on US National VWE team), and in the NCAA at UPenn.  At this strong, prestigious national point event used to select the U.S. National Team to send to World Cups, zonal events, and other FIE events, Margo won the SILVER medal!  It’s especially sweet to see “LIBERTY FC” next to her name at the top of the USA Fencing NAC results list! http://results.usfencingresults.org/2014-2015/2014.12-DEC-NAC/FTEvent_2014Dec05_V50WE.htm
Margo valiantly took the gold medal match until time expired and comes home with a well-earned silver medal.  She defeated her semi-final opponent 10-4 and her quarter-final opponent 10-5.  We are extremely proud of Margo and honored to be in her company.  CONGRATS!
